APF chooses smart with bGrid Amsterdam in collaboration with District West

District West, a joint venture between Angelo Gordon and APF International, has chosen bGrid’s technology to make the Lighthouse office building in Amsterdam-Sloterdijk “smart”. This decision aligns with their efforts to achieve the ESG objectives for this office development.

By making the building smart, the building systems are designed with a particularly high degree of intelligence and adapt optimally to the needs of the user. Matthijs Bakker of APF International: ‘ESG has been our number one priority since the start of this development. District West not only offers excellent facilities, but focuses in particular on the well-being and comfort of its tenants. By making District West smart with bGrid, this can be met even better.

‘Only with hard data can you really help clients’

Wouter Kok of bGrid: ‘We are proud that District West has chosen bGrid’. From the start, we consciously chose to take responsibility for the hardware in addition to our software, which we develop in a Microsoft environment. That was not an obvious choice. Our vision is that you must be 100 percent sure which sensor is where in order to generate hard data. Only then can you really help clients when it comes to ESG and user comfort. And being able to validate that in real-time is a requirement for a building to perform well. This strategy is paying off and this assignment provides great energy and confidence that we must continue on this path.’

With Lighthouse, District West offers companies the opportunity to grow at a prominent location in Amsterdam-Sloterdijk. Lighthouse will be a future-proof and energy-efficient multi-tenant building where organizations are given the space and facilitated to innovate and grow. This advanced technology was applied in the development of this project in close collaboration with Totaal Techniek Groep and Quintess. By applying the bGrid technology, which concerns both hardware and software, it is possible, among other things, to better control and automatically control energy consumption in order to realize significant savings. In addition, this application ensures that different controls can be combined and controlled from one device. Below is an overview of the available functionalities.
