Bühler Group’s innovation campus (and worldwide headquarters), CUBIC, in Uzwill, Switzerland was created to drive innovation, training, and development.. Together with their customers, partners from industry and science, academia, and start-ups, they use the CUBIC campus to conduct research into new and sustainable solutions that can be applied to successful business ventures. The three-story CUBIC is therefore designed to accommodate up to 300 people and is a model of sustainability and innovation, using 15% less energy than comparable structures of its size. The smart technology in the building is based on bGrid’s smart infrastructure, which was installed in the building.
bGrid outfitted the CUBIC campus with a network of omni-sensor nodes, which measure carbon dioxide levels, air humidity, temperature, movement, and occupancy. This data can be used by Bühler Group to continuously fine-tune the functionality and energy consumption of the building, therefore sustainably optimising the operation of the building. Aside from this, our nodes can be used as beacons for navigation, localisation, and asset tracking, and can control various building management systems, such as lighting. CUBIC Innovation Campus has since been awarded a Gold LEED Certification, for buildings that “save money, improve efficiency, lower carbon emissions and create healthier places for people”.
We deliver you the building as a smartphone. Features that update like apps and hard data to talk numbers!
