The Asics building in Hoofddorp is a dynamic and multifunctional space. When planning the building, Asics focused on a healthy indoor climate, a comfortable, versatile working environment for its users, and, above all, sustainability. The building was therefore designed to achieve (and did achieve) a gold certificate from both the LEED and WELL rating systems, both of which recognise healthy, energy efficient buildings.
In addition, the interior of the building aims to promote innovation and collaboration and support different types of work. This is achieved with a large variety of workspaces, including traditional offices, focus areas, open zones, and flexible landing places. To help creating this flexible, healthy, comfortable, and sustainable building, the bGrid network was integrated in the building.
Our network is created by a grid of omni-sensor nodes, positioned throughout the building, which collect a variety of building data to be monitored over time. Over 500 bGrid nodes are installed within the Asics building, totalling more than 2500 data measurements, including temperature, humidity, sound intensity, light intensity, movement, and CO₂ level. This data is used to provide the most healthy, productive, and sustainable working environment for the Asics employees.
bGrid’s open API allows apps like, for example, the Winvision personal control application to connect to our network. Winvision allows the users of the Asics building to change the light and temperature settings to fit their individual preferences with a swipe on their smart phones. In addition, we use our data to provide the building owners and managers with actionable insights they can use to optimise the building, reduce energy consumption, and make it a more enjoyable place to be.
We deliver you the building as a smartphone. Features that update like apps and hard data to talk numbers!
